How to Use Essential Oils
God made each one of us unique, with that said everyone will respond to each oil differently, with different sensitivities. If you find that one oil is not working for you try using a different one that can be used to heal the same ailment. For example Lavender works really well for me when I have a headache but for my husband using peppermint yields better results.
There are three different ways to use essential oils: topically, inhalation, and internally.
First, to use an oil topically you can put right on your skin or used carrier oil. A carrier oil, also known as base oil or vegetable oil, is used to dilute essential oils before they are applied to the skin. They are named this because they carry the essential oil onto the skin. For a carrier oil you can use Young Living’s V6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex, olive, almond, coconut, jojoba, grape seed, Rose hip seed, sesame seed, sunflower seed, or other organic plant-based fatty oils. I personally enjoy using coconut oil. Using oils topically works extremely fast it only takes three seconds for the oil to enter the bloodstream.
Second, Essential oils can be used by inhalation. There are a few ways to do this: Smell directly from the bottle. Place the bottle of oils in front of your nose and breath deep, but don’t snort, some of the oils can go up your nose and can burn, although it doesn’t cause any permanent damage. Try covering each nostril and breath in several times, you can also place a drop or two on the palm of your hands, rub together gently, cup your hands over your nose and just inhale slowly for a few minutes. Oils travel through the nasal passages into your lungs, and according to some research, on to cells in the body and also through the brain. Essential oils can affect your mood and can bring up memories, so just be aware of that. My favorite way to inhale essential oils is by using a diffuser. It reduces bacteria, fungus, mold and unpleasant odors. For you it relaxes your body, relieves tension, and clears the mind. Also, improves concentration, alertness, and mental clarity.
Third, you can use essential oils by ingesting them. You can put the essential oils in an empty vegetable capsule and swallow, or you could also use it in water, juice or NingXia Red.You could also place a couple drops of essential oils in honey and swallow, or if you are very brave you can drop a couple drops on your tongue or under your tongue to get quick relief.
In conclusion, always check the label to see how that oil can best be used. These are just a few basic ways to use essential oils. If you’re ready to start your adventure in learning more about essential oils and using them yourself, please click the link below.
